I have the 'super dwarf cavendish' which I think is the same thing. It produces fruit, but they are extremely small - like in the 1 1/2 inch long range. Perhaps they could get bigger if I fertilized.

truly tiny is a sport of dwarf cavendish and if you are growing it for the fruit i would recommend other cultivars that may get a few feet taller like dwarf red which are really fruity when completely ripe, dwarf cavendish are worse then store bananas IMO

I bought one in mid summer this year and would also be interested if people have had success fruiting them, and if so how long it takes. I needed a short plant, and got it 80% for foliage, but if it can fruit that would be excellent. Mine just got burned back by frost though. Next year will be its first full season in the ground - will be interesting to see if it fruits then.

Musa basjoo is hardy to zone 6 with some mulch., it grows effortlessly and has a beautiful yellow flower, which is rare for musas

in ground it will probably take three years of dying back and growing before its large enough to flower and fruit. the fruit are tasteless, all non tropical bananas are.

Thai Black is a Musa balbisiana sport and will grow tall, have a black pseudostem and red flower, its probably hardy to a low zone 8. fruit are non edible

also Muesella lasiocarpa which is not a banana but in the Musa family can grow to zone 6.n that has a beautiful flower

if you want to grow an edible and protect it from frost, grow a dwarf red. you can grow it in 25 gallon or even dig up the corm in the winter. they have a red pseudostem and get about 6 foot tall w/o leaves

YES grow inside
