I am from Quebec City in eastern Canada. ( french Canadien ) Let me present my installation. After a few test here is my method. First the bin; 31 gallons for $ 20 at a large find everithing store. That seems reasonable. I did not made holes because I believe that the organic liquid is very attractive to fungus gnat.

Within i leaves some space on the right to keep my ready compost. It is a wired basket from the one buck store . This provides an opportunity for young worms to migrate to the active part of the bin. You seesome perlite because the Christmas poinsettia were past through.
