Just wanted to post that I tried something that i saw posted on this forum, and it worked brilliantly.

In attempt to remove black-fly larvae from one of my bins I put a half rockmelon (cantelope) seed cavity down, on top of the compost in my bin. After two days i came back and turned it over to find the whole rockmelon full of the larvae, and a nice neat pile of larvae camped underneath. I quickly scooped them all up and fed them to the chooks.

I am going to do this a few times to complete the process, but I gotta say that on a quick check of the bin I couldnt find any other larvae. Seems the rockmelon is too good a bait.

"Wow, it bloody worked!!!" moments.
