The ones I wonder about are the really clean ones I find in bunches in wads of paper or egg shells. What do they do, wipe off before getting in and taking a nap?

I have noticed that the really clean ones have firm bodies, so they must be really healthy.
Might be they are having an orgie; which will result in cocoons. So, let them do their thing. You want cocoons too, don't you?

I find them goofing off on the inside of the lid all the time. Sometime there is a pair of them mating so I quickly replace the lid. On one of my three COW towers in particular I find numerous newly hatched worms. most of these are so new that they are still transparent and difficult too see. On these I close the lid and let them alone, but I wonder how they got there. Was there a cocoon attached to the lid and they hatched there? Did they hatch in the bin and then climb up into the lid?

The cocoons could be close to the surface and looking for a damp place, they crawl to the lid.
My RM lids have some condensation overnight and that's where they'll be in the morning.

Cocoons can't crawl.

What I meant is, when the cocoons closer to the surface of the VC hatched, THE BABY WORMS crawled to the damp underside of my RM bin's lid.

From all the eggs I've been seeing, mine are more getting busy than being lazy.

I lifted the lids of my 3 COWs this morning, as I do every morning, and inside of lid #3 I found many juvenile worms. Nothing unusual there except that 2, no more than 1.5 inches long seemed to be mating. Is there a worm age of consent?
