Before you go to the trouble and expense of figuring out a support system and planting the vines, I'd check with your local municipality and utility/phone companies as to whether they'll permit such plantings. In my area it is illegal to plant anything on telephone or utility poles - it interfers with maintenance - and it is very difficult to get any vine to establish on a smooth metal pole. They also heat up alot in summer, effectively cooking the vine.

Ok last year I put an enlarged tomato cage fencing around a metal yard light and stuck a coral honeysuckle inside of that now, Im thinking of planting a carinal climber so it will grow and climb on that fencing, should this work , or not.
