Pot size for vines

Hi,I plant most of my vines in containers with trellis's.I have no more yard room.I was wondering do most people go ahead and plant a small vine in a large pot to begin with or do you transplant as needed.I have a 6 inch pot sky vine(plus other vines that size) and its going to look strange in a large pot now.Usually I go ahead and put vines in the pot they are to grow in but I'm running out of large pots,trellis's,potting soil and money.

If you have the vine in a 6" pot, you could probably put it right in your permanent pot now. Sometimes if I have smaller plants in 4" or 2" pots, I'll transplant those to a 6" or 8" until they get a little more size, and then move them to the more permanent pot.
