winter jasmine frustrations

I am so frustrated - I have a winter jasmine (potted as a bonsai). It is very healthy but never blooms.

This year I left it in the unheated breezeway (I live in Michigan so temps were well below freezing). I was so excited to see blooms develop in late winter (February). This last week we had lots of sun - and the buds opened into what look like new foliage growth, not the yellow flowers I have been waiting for.

Why won't the darn thing flower in the winter

This has been a crazy winter. I have one that has had buds only, since December - they still haven't opened. The other two did NOTHING. Maybe next year will be better.

Mine is blooming now...lots more blooms this winter since it was colder here.
I didn't think it would do well in zone 9, but am glad to see the yellow blooms.

After having plump buds since Dec., I had a blossom open today.

Had mine (and one at my mother in law's) for 3 years now. Not a bloom in that time. I'll have to check it in the morning, but I saw new leaves the other day.

Put in a Clove Currant instead. Blooms very early (mine has buds now and will bloom by the weekend) and smells great.
