Sweet Aultmnm Clematis? :) Sorry about the spellling. Arum

My favorite is a native to Eastern North America, Aristolochia macrophylla/durior. The blooms aren't much, small pipe-shaped flowers about an inch or slightly larger, maybe 3cms. The vines grows all summer, thrives in part shade, does not pop up in the lawn ever, and is the only food for Pipevine Butterflies.

You can cut the vine and prune it any way you want, pruning when young actually helps it grow thicker. One thing to remember is that this vine will not grow downward. If a leader has no support and the vine is headed down, the end dies and new vines grow up from the lraf axil.

Just a nice green, large leafed native with few problems.
