I tend to be a lazy worm farmer. I just add large amounts of food scraps, with some sand, and dry organic compost. I dont touch them or look at them for weeks. When i do, the stuff is all broken down, and i just add another large amount to the other side. I live in moderate temp zone, so maybe that is an issue. But they tend to be very self sufficient and in my short experience, if fed and wet, they do just fine alone for quite some time. As long as the food supply is enough to keep em busy.
