sounds like they're desperately looking for food and home - they don't eat apples, they skim off the bacteria that cause decomposition, and that takes awhile to progress enough to be worm food - they're hungry and disgruntled and tryin to figure out how to find a better place

You are doing fine. Most worms after they have been shuffled around get on the move, ENC's are the worst for this. I keep red's and they have done the same thing, even with plenty of food sources, lovely housing etc. They are just a bit pissy. With the red's I have to keep a light on and the lid off for a couple days to keep them in place, then they settle in and no more escape attempts. Learned that lesson the hard way. I have read that the ENC's are MUCH worse with this behavior, people leave the light on and lid off for a week or more sometimes, but then after that they settle in.

Yeah i just got my worms too....threw them in the bin and left for a few hours to find about hundred escapes sneaking out the ventilation holes. I took the cover off and have a light right above it, they appear to have retreated for now.
