If you have access to that much half finished compost you should be off to a good start. You may be able to get away with only the half finished compost for bedding (depending on what was composted)and just keep some shredded cardboard on hand for managing moisture. Unless of course the purpose was to dispose of that newspaper and cardboard.

You may have a more positive experience if you can get a photo of the worms you are using. If someone is able to identify them for you can read more about (or post questions here) ideal conditions, etc. If you give a description of the bin you're going to use, people here like to throw in their 2 cents (over there would it be your 2 pence?). Most are quite helpful.

I have taken a few photos today of my system im sure i am makeing many mistakes regarding worms and wormeries but if the worms decide to move into my muck and stay thats great if i mess up they can easily move out until the situation suits them better
I am what you may call a free range worm farmer lol
i supply as much muck as they can consume and hopefully they will repay me by makeing me some nice compost

can anybody identify my worms from my poor pictures

my compost heap is comprised of horse /stable manure
chicken manure and bedding straw pigeon manure rabbit and guinepig manure all our kitchen waste veg trimmings
cardboard newpapers and lots of comfry and any other green waste from the garden
