We live in a two story Federal style colonial brick home. Since my wooden shutters have fallen apart, it is time to replace them. We were thinking of going with plastic shutters for longevity, and they do come in traditional styles. The brickwork is reddish brown with white trim. The old colors are a bright red door with dark green shutters, like a black watch green. We are open to a new and fresh color scheme for shutters and front door that honors traditional American style but perhaps a bit of flair. Any ideas that have worked for others, or for your neighbors ?
