Fried green tomatoes

If the tomatoes are changing colour they will turn red on a window sill. Otherwise, check for green tomato recipes.

We are rather fond of our Dalmation too, and she is about the same age. When my now 21 year old son was about nine he named her Spot!

Before I could tell her to stop, a branch snapped.

I am assuming the rest of the plant is still in the container? It will continue to grow.

As for the branch or sucker, it will not support the fruits even if you root it since it takes a bit of time for them to grow enough roots to support producing fruit. In your zone you have time to grow another plant from that branch if you want another one. First, strip the fruits and any blossoms, they would probably drop off anyway, but taking them off allows the plant to put its energy into surviving. Take off any leaves in the last 6 or 8 inches of the stem, (you may wish to cut the length down to about a foot and strip any leaves lower than 6", but rooting will work with the longer branch too), then just put the branch into a container with moist potting soil almost to the last leaves you left and make sure it stays moist. In a week or so the plant will have made roots and will start to grow.
