Greetings all. I am quite new to the boards (been spectating for a while) and have not quite found the answer in which I'm looking.

From my reading I have seen that there are two main methods of worm feeding.

Method 1: Dig a small trough in one side of the bin. Add the food scraps (I puree mine in a food processor) and bury. Once eaten, bury more food in the other side of the bin. Alternate in different places where food is burried.

Method 2: "Sprinkle" food all over the top of the worm bed (no more than 1/2 in deep). Cover the bed with a damp newspaper or burlap. Repeat once the food is eaten....replace newspaper/burlap as needed.

Do you think it matters how they are fed? I currently use Method 1. I do not have newspaper or burlap over the bed (I have "The Wriggly Wranch"), only the tray cover protects them from the elements.
