What are you using for the mini bins? I'm thinking of doing the same thing for Girl Scouts, so I'll be keeping an eye on this post. Happy moving!

I am just using random containers that I have around the house, like sterilite shoeboxes and ice cream buckets. Anything, really. I just drilled holes in the sides. I don't know how long the kids will be able to keep their bins going, so I'm not too worried about having an ideal bin. If it turns out that they get really into it, their parents can "upgrade" their bins. ;-)

Thanks Infamous! I've been trying to think how I could teach vermicomposting to a class of homeschoolers. This is a simple "bin" and it will get them started!

Thanks for the info, infamous. I have a bunch of worms to give to someone and just found out that they cant get them til next week sometime. I had them in a cup thinking they would only be in there for a day or two, but now need to make a mini bin and your link gave me the perfect plans.
