I wouldn't want that stuff in any of my bins. Dry shredded paper is better if you need to use anything. Not overwatering the bin is even better.

Before trying such a thing you might want to experiment with the water crystals. They might be fine for plants but I think they could be very irritating to worms.

I use lots of these water crystals for my house plants as there is no soil inside the house. The crystals can dry out at which point they will try to absorb water from anything moist around them and they get sticky when almost dried out. I think they could be bad for the worms or problematic for harvesting from the bin at the very least. They are also dangerous if you spill them since they are incredibly slippery when wet and nearly impossible to pick up! You also should not put them down the drain.

moisture in the worm bin is controlled by the additions of bedding and food, and by areation as necessary, no hi-tech chemicals required or desireable
