Virginia, Creeper can be a booger, but I think it would be a great arbor vine, with dense privacy. :) arum

Full sun sounds ideal for the native Lonicera sempervirens.
Although it's not fragrant, it flowers from spring to frost here and hummingbirds visit it often.

If you have a highly fragrant vine, bees could be a problem to those on the swing.

There are quite a few nice selections of this vine available.
If it's a large arbor, you might plant 2 vines, one at each end. Yellow , red and bicolor forms are attractive.

totutoise, I've been looking for a few different types of vines for multiple spots and discovered many wonderful vines. You might want to also check out some of the Rose vines or Clematis. I wasn't crazy about Clematis or climbing roses, but the more I look at the different varieties the more attractive they seem. There are many stunning, long blooming Rose varieties that have an outstanding smell to them.
