newbie seeking guidance

hi folks. I'm at about week 3 of a new COW system that I bought for my preschool classroom. I read this site thoroughly before starting and gleaned a lot of tips. Now come the questions:

1. Big clumps of worms: is this normal or do they need more room? I am just using the bottom tray so far.

2. Adding another tray: should I wait until the first tray is fully processed?

3. Bedding: do I have to keep adding bedding along with food scraps as I feed them?

4. Adding a tray: do I have to make a new bed for them or just put scraps in and figure they'll migrate up?

1. no, 3 weeks will not produce an overcrowded condition without steroids, but yes, you can give em more room if you want.

2. yes, you can add another tray, but no, you don't need to.

3. no, you don't need to add bedding, but yes, you can if you want.

4. no, you don't need to add bedding, but yes, you can if you want, and they'll migrate up.

Either way, you're doing great. Sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer.
