What glue is safe for worm bin?

Hi,

I'm just about to start assembling a rubbermaid worm bin. I want to put some screen over the airholes to prevent fruit flies since it will be an indoor worm bin. What kind of glue are safe to use? I'm trying to use what I have on hand and I can't find my hot glue gun. Would gorilla glue work, krazy glue?

Also I have banded worms in my compost heap. Can I use them rather than buying worms?

I tried using some silicone caulking to hold screen material on a sterilite bin, it didn't last long at all. Hot glue works best. I don't think gorilla or krazy glue would work at all. You can get a hot glue gun for just a few bucks at a dollar general, 5below etc.

The worms in your compost heap are probably the same kind of worm that you get when you buy them.

You can try marine epoxy if you are worried about safety, it's supposed to not leach and water safe once cured, hence its use by aquarium hobbyists. I've no experience in this application though.

Personally to deal with flies and ventilation, I just drape over the air holes with old tshirts as far as using what I have on hand :)
