Set seed indoors?

It won't be long before winter comes and I was wondering if a vine plant taken indoors will produce seed. I would think someone with experience growing any indoor flowering plant could help me out. Indoors there aren't any insects to pollinate flowers but there still are some wind currents. If a plant indoors flowers just as much as an outdoor plant, will it produce comparable seed? Does it need two flowers to bloom at the same time or does that matter? Thanks.

It depends on if it's a self pollinating variety. I don't have much luck keeping my vines blooming over the winter in the greenhouse. Most of mine drop their buds soon after I take them in. Because of this (and space issues) I usually cut them way back before moving them unless there are already seed pods that I want to give a chance to ripen.

makeitcrynsing - You didn't mention specifically what vines you are referring to,but if you are growing any Morning Glories,just push the pollen fluffy looking anthers against the stigma...this will enable adequate pollen transfer...
