What colors do you like? Are you a subtle shade or do you prefer more bold colors?

What ever colors im more into dark but what ever color will be ok i just wNant to decorate my house but dont know what will go

It is hard to suggest a color, the lighting in your photos makes it hard to get an accurate feel for your colors. Some colors I have used in the past (not necessarily together) are Bejamin Moore Roxbury Caramel, Desert Tan, and Lennox Tan. The Lennox Tan and Desert Tan look really nice together. We have these in our living/dining rooms right now. Our old house had Desert tan in the kitchen (with light maple cabinets) and then Roxbury Caramel in the family room off the kitchen. This is a darker shade, depending on your lighting, there are lighter caramels that may work better.

Have you picked up sample chips at the paint store yet? This can help you narrow down what will look good with your granite, rug, and overall colors. The photos you have attached are dark, so I can't tell if you get good lighting during the day. If the apartment is not very bright, you may want to stick with lighter paint colors, with a slightly darker accent wall.

Furniture

I suggest you look into greige as your color throughout. Search the box above for it under photos and professionals to learn more. The rug under your dining table is too small. Will it fit in the kitchen? Rugs under dining tables need to be 4 feet wider and longer than the table so chairs can be moved out for standing up and sitting down. Would pull it away from the wall and try the mirror in the living room over the sofa (can we see the living room next post?) Looks like vertical blinds throughout. Can you change those for some drapery panels or soft roman shades? If your block rug fits the kitchen, use one of those colors for the window treatment.

i think a bolder color would be good! It looks like your furniture colors are darker. maybe Litchfield Gray from Benjamin moore would be good!?! also i agree w/ the rug. i would change that out to a more simple solid color.

It's small so all one color and one that is geared for small, but looking large.

BM Super White will definitely make your small space look bigger.
BM Horizon OC-53 looks white on the chip, but actually will look blue on the walls.

Usually, a darker paint will make a room look larger because there are no shadows in the corners, but I am not sure you are ready for that.

Dave suggested that maybe your rug could be moved. I agree as it is making your dining space look small.

the kitchen the back wall would look nice in red ocher with a light colored blind or you could reverse it and leave it the color it is just put up a wood blind.

I suggest lowering your mirror a few inches down...it is a little high. For your kitchen..I like the look of the long narrow rug....but how dramatic and stunning would it look to find a runner with a great pattern and lots of color. It will instantly transform your kitchen.

For color...let's use your rug under your table as a start. A sage green or a beige would look really fresh in your space. Then I think just add some window treatments and you will see a huge difference.

If you are renting, you might not want to paint much. See if you will have to paint it back before you do too much. One small thing would be to paint the back wall in the kitchen a dark brown,then buy an inexpensive roman shade (woven dark bamboo). Pick an accent color (teal or some shade of blue or a deep red- not tomato) for canisters and possibly a bowl on the counters. Be careful not to over do it. Counters should be left mainly clear . Is there room to pull your table from the wall? The rug is a little small. I like the idea of putting the rug in the kitchen. That red would be a good accent color. I really like your mirror. Bold, large items tend to give rooms a feeling of being decorated without feeling cluttered. Even if those are vertical blinds you can hang simple curtains over them to block them from view, but you could still close the blinds at night. I could not see any furniture in your family room. If you are going to buy some, keep it simple. A couch and two chairs work in many different size and shaped rooms. Really take your time because you will probably have it for several years. Buy the best you can easily afford. Get your color from pillows, throws, art, etc. Those can be changed when your taste changes (and it will). Look online for inspiration.

Sorry for not replying i hadnt seen messages yes im renting but they told me i could paint what would be the good colors i dont have furniture yet on my living room just some couches i dont like and the t.v and i like the idea of the rug in the kitchen i dont think it will fit is there anything else that will work i really like vases in the kitchen any suggesten how to decorate with them and thank u very much everyone

Please do yourself a favour and show the Landlord a paint chip/sample of your colour choice, prior to proceeding. Get in writing. or have your lease amended to include the permission to paint, providing they approve of your colour choice. Good luck.

Nice place. I wouldn't paint it looks fine. Bamboo shade in kitchen to match cabinets.

On fridge: a wicker "basket" not too deep the dimensions of the top of fridge for bread and stuff ("blue vase" too tall for fridge). The less you keep in a small kitchen, the better it will look and easy to clean. I have a similar kitchen in a beach house (it's not as nice as your kitchen, though) & to keep cleaning to a minimum: I only use the microwave and a crock pot for cooking. I never have to clean the cook top or oven. It's worked very well for me. The brown rug is fine, too: stick to repeating the colors that are in floor, granite, cabinets & you can't go wrong. DR is lovely with mirror & rug. You could have a center piece on the DR table. Maybe the blue "vase" that's on the fridge? Keep repeating the colors in the rug for the living room and perhaps carry those same colors into the bath and bedroom(s)

Do you guys think i should post mire picture of how it look cz i did the rug underneath becausei have a baby and he always trows things and it was leaving stains so i could get a diffrent one but its in the entrances so i think a weird all the way to the entrance

I have a wall painted this color and love, love, love it!

Center the kitchen rug instead of having it only toward one end of the space. Hang a Roman Shade over the kitchen window. I found the one in the picture at Home Depot.

I love your mirror...but since the table is retangular and the place mats are rectangular and the rug is rectangular the round mirror looks a little off. Hang it somewhere else and find a nice big rectangular one to go over your table or buy round place mats to help tie everything together. If you were to buy bright green ones they would tie in the kitchen color to the dining area.

Next find drapes to hang over your living room windows. If no one can see it hang them only at the ends of the slider and on the outside edges of the single window. If someone can see in that is a different matter. Hang them so they can cover the windows. (see photos for illustration)

More important than a decorated house is that sweet baby. One day you will look back and realize how quickly (s)he grew up, so don't worry about how your place looks, what kind of furniture you have. No one will remember. Take the time to play with your baby and make memories that last a life time!

I agree! Keep it simple and durable while they are little and save the high-style decor for later! That's why I suggested going with bright colors to go with all the toys!

I suggest you add in an eccentric color maybe a green.

Because you have taken time to post pictures and seek help with decorating, it is important to you. I raised 4 girls and of course that is most important thing mothers do, but there is nothing wrong with feeling good about your surroundings. In fact, when all the kids were tucked in bed and I could sit back for a little while, I truly enjoyed being in a room that I found pleasing. You strike a balance. I don't think I ever spent more than $35 on accent pieces. You can do this and it will be lovely. I like the idea of the basket on the refrig. because many people put cereal , bread, etc. on them. A basket can keep that looking neat. Replace the couches you don't like with one you do. You can get two slipper chairs on line for as little as $300( that can be a lot when you are a young mother). With careful shopping you could furnish the basic pieces for $1100. I still like the round mirror where it is , but it will look good anywhere.
