Hmmm, sorry -- that's sad. Were the worms kept outside?

Mickey2..Do you have any way to move that bin to a more protected place? All is probably not lost. I had a bin freeze and when I moved it to a warmer location (in a sunny place)cocoons hatched and there were some adults moving about too.

Vicky, the worms may be dead, but the cocoons can survive months of freezing. They'll hatch in the spring and start up again.

I'm sorry Vicky, I know how you feel as I had the same thing in the other direction when too much food in the bedding caused it to heat up too much.

As others mention, all might not be lost. Can you move the bin to your basement or some other warm place. The adults are likely lost, but cocoons could hatch and grow over winter. If you do have space indoors, you might even order more worms now instead of waiting until spring?
