I live in S. Korea. My friend has offered me a (Japanese?Chinese?)wisteria plant, stem about 3cm near roots. I'm pleased as I love its flowers and smell.

I've read all the warnings about its invasiveness. I'll plant it in a very strong pot and let it grow on our new strong pergola. I'll prune it strongly every year and hope for the best. I won't take any nonsense from it!

What I'm asking is: when is the best month to dig it up and transfer it? We have freezing weather right now and this can continue to early or mid-March. Things heat up after that.
