A double layer of clear plastic that will solarize your soil might work, but that would take you whole growing season this year. There is no chemical product being sold today, no matter what the product ads might imply, that will do more than kill unwanted plant growth for even a whole growing season. Farmers are finding that they need to spray even the glyphosate products several times a year to control "weed" growth, one of the reasons why some crops are genetically engineered to be resistant to those poisons.

I think you need to give us a little more information before anyone can help you with this situation. What is this area used for? Are there other (permanent) plants in it?

No such product is available to home gardeners.

Further, depending upon the size of the area, you would have serious problems with erosion, both by wind and water.

Better choice would be to put in a temporary cover, perhaps by seeding grass or a cover crop.
