is poke weed edible?

from a noxious poison to a tender, delicious spring green, the opinion on poke weed is so mixed. does anyone have experience eating it? does it taste like delicious spring green even after the various boiling and changing water cycles or does it taste like mush?

Sometimes. In some ways. Pokeweed Salat, or Poke Salat, was fairly common some years ago, there is some research that seems to suggest Pokeweed has some cancer inhibiting or suppressing properties, at least in lab rats. However, many sources advise strongly against eating any part of this plant at anytime.
