Same problem here. The lesson learned is to pay close attention to the seed label on the bag of seed. The "% other crop" is the line to read. "Other crop" can be a number of different things, but orchardgrass is one of them. You want the "other crop" to be as close to zero as possible. Good quality seed will often have 0.01% âÂÂother cropâ or less.

Anyway, the best results that I have had is to use very low pressure in the sprayer and put the tip of the sprayer wand very close to the crown of the orchardgrass, trying to get only the center of the plant wetted. It makes for a smaller kill spot that the surrounding grass can often fill back in.
