Is it getting too much shade? My neighbor grows it and it creeps under the fence into my flower beds. I pulled it out this spring, but I'm sure more will follow.

My dwarf ruellia is slow this year. Just a few blooms so far.

Mine hasn't really bloomed yet, either, but I know that too much shade will keep it from blooming. And probably too little water, too.

It might need some warmer weather also if it's the ruellia brittoniana. Mine seem to bloom best when it's the warmest, even though it's in full sun all day.

Thanks I'll try putting it in more sunlight I water every two days so I don't think it's that I've also gave away a lot of the smaller ones that come up in my pot I got mine from Cottage farms it's braided so it's all four colors it was beautiful when it bloomed, I would really like to get it back to that.

I hate to cut mine down last year after a big frost in georgia. They seem to not be growing like they normally do . I am so disappointed. Without the flowers they look like big weeds behind my other flowers. They usually just do there thing every year and give me beautiful flowers everyday.

We had a drought in April/May in SC and i wasn't home to water them. They are not as tall as they have been in previous years and have not gotten one bloom on them. I have watered consistantly since I have been home and used Miracle Grow, and still nothing. I guess just wait until next year to see if they are okay. Oh, neighbor has the same problem, stunted in growth and no blooms. But she was home to water them in the spring. Any ideas?

Mine are doing the same thing. They have bloomed beautifully for years and this year nothing! Did anyone figure this out? I can rule out lack of sunshine and needing water and fertilizer.

The deer sheered down my ruellia in early summer and they've grown back but I have no blooms yet so is it possible they won't bloom at all this year? Clearly they are NOT deer resistent in Virginia.

Mine are not blooming either … maybe 2024 is not the good year for Mexican petunia to bloom?

Mine bloomed abundantly this year, and I've collected seed pods. It has been an unusually wet summer here, though.
