Growing various hot peppers and using black plastic for weed control. Noticed some peppers were thriving, while others just don't seem to grow, and/or are losing leaves. I peeled back the plastic and noticed a green mold on top of the soil around the area of weak peppers (thriving peppers didn't have the mold in their area). Has anyone else had problems with mold using black plastic? Our season started with average rainfall, but now it's been dry and hot for a few weeks. The soil under the plastic is moist (which is how it's suppose to be), and is not overly wet.
