#1 is one of the many goldenrods(Solidago spp.). Just pulled a few dozen! Not sure on #2.

Hackberry seedling. Makes an interesting tree.

First is not a goldenrod but is one of the plants with the common name of "mares tail". I would pull it up unless you like the plant. I have never seen them bloom just get taller. Their flowers must be very small.

But why would #1 show up in different places in my garden? I've already pulled some but there are still some left.

Are you sure about the hackberry seedling? It's because I'm going to search for some images and if I like it, I'll keep it.

The first plant looks like horseweed, Conyza canadensis. The second looks like a box elder maple seedling, Acer negundo.

Thanks for the id jeanne. Looks like it's really acer negundo. I looked for it in google and this is one of the pics I found.

I'll transplant it next year to the backyard or maybe, I can transplant it early September this year. :)

Funny I have the same set up here in Valley Center ,CA tons and tons of these they are both Conyza canadensis as pointed out but on closer inspection they grow together with the other kind that has after 6 months of staring at it thinking it's one of my cone flower seedlings has the ugly off white smaller than petite peas balls of fuzz flowers.
There are so many variations I have at least tree one has fuzzy leaves a little bit of a silvery sheen but it's confusing because they look so different depending on water and soil. If you see something that is not a weed please let me know I am planning on pulling all of them but I was afraid of confusing them with the cone flowers
