I don't like the damage that groundhogs do to my yard. I am trying to be smarter than they are and being realistic, I expect some damage. For instance they keep tunneling under my shed. So my future plan is to elevate the foundation of the shed. And of course try not to break an ankle in any new hole they have dug.

My neighbors however are poisoning them. I had one crawl under my shed and die, and the smell was terrible. I don't get it. We buy houses in a fringe area next to a park because it is beautiful and there is nature. And then some of us think nature is inconvenient and kill it.

I voiced my opinion to my neighbor, but I need to live here so I didn't get all militant on them. And most of my neighbors feel the same way. Darn!
