Weed B Gone works well, but it may need more than one application. Otherwise, if you don't use chemicals, hand pulling works, slowlyyyyyyy.

Oh, I meant to add that WBG will kill the wanted stuff, too. So if the creeping charlie is entwined with your hostas, then only hand pulling is recommended. You may want to dig the hosta up, clear away the CC, then replant the hosta. Do this in the fall when the hostas are settling down for the winter anyways.

As with any "weed", a plant growing where you do not want it to grow, in the planting bed removal is best done by hand once it has started to grow. Good, heavy mulches will go a long way in helping control unwanted plant growth in those planting beds.

Kimmsr, creeping charlie is a surface plant. It spreads by sending out a runner which attaches to the surface and sends down roots. I do believe the best weed control is the hand or a small rake. In the hostas weeding by hand is better. In my soil if you can find a runner and pull gently enough to pop the growth of the roots without leaving a part of the top growth charlie will not regrow from that runner. I have an old hand tool that has several springy pieces of metal that I can put under the plant between the rooted sections and pull.
