Indeterminate question

I have a red beefsteak growing out of a container on my porch. Just now getting some flowers and a couple of infant tomatoes. My only problem is that it is about 5 feet tall already with no signs of slowing down, and I don't know if I can let it get much bigger. I had some environmental issues earlier that killed off a bunch of buds lower down on the plant, so the only place I have anything fruiting is at the top. My worry is that if I pinch off the growth at the top to keep it manageable, I will only be left with the handful of buds and new formed tomatoes that are there currently. Will I continue to get new flowing from side shoots lower in the plant if I pinch off the top?
