Looks like an Astragulus ?? The species I work with are very low but those species live in the desert. Some are natives some are weeds. Commonly refered to as one kind of "Vetch" or another.

Yes, looks like vetch to me. Considered a troublesome weed when in an agricultural field.

Don't move any to your place, this because the seeds are *very* persistent. Once you have it, you truly *have* it!

Vicia cracca, I think. Called purple vetch, cow vetch, pea vetch. It's one of the introduced plants that is starting to show up on the invasive plant lists in several states.

And is used and sold as a cover crop and nitrogen fixer.
