Couch Grass as Mulch

Once the "wire" is out of the ground, what do you do with it?

I either bake it in the sun on the brick garden paths until dry and brittle, then roughly crush it before adding it to the beds as mulch., or to make use of it as a combined mulch/fertilizer, I drown it in a bucket of water for 3/4 weeks, along with any other weeds, then pour the mush, water and all back onto the beds.
