A "weed wacker" might help in removing the above ground growth but to "get rid" of Kudzu means grubbing out the roots. Spraying those very expensive poisons around has ben shown to be only somewhat effective at control of Kudzu, and none will kill it, at least according to the Ag Research people.

I think a weed wacker would be frustrating to use on kudzu. You'd be bumping or changing the line a lot. I've cleared an area before, mostly by pulling, and sometimes spraying - depending on how much there was. It did always come back, but I was able to keep it manageable. If it's contained to your property, I think you can get a handle on it, if you're persistent. Any tool rental places near you? They might have brush mower for all of the other stuff you're clearing.
