Oh no...goodbye tomatoes...

I have a modest plot of 4 roma plants. They've been great. Lost maybe 6 total tomatos to BER and the harvest of the first 60 or so tomatoes made for great cooking/sauce.

I went out yesterday morning to get the next 4-5 tomatoes that were about to turn from orange to redish...my favorite time to pick since the fruit comes off easily without disturbing other close fruits.

Well, they weren't there. I live in an apartment complex of 4 units and i told a couple neighbors they could snag a few. That's what i thought happened...until this morning.

Everything to around a 3-ish ft. level on the 4ft. plants are now stripped bare. The 4-5 tomatoes that went down yesterday have been jointed by the 20-ish other ones picked clean.

Now i have maybe a dozen left off the top of the plants that will come up to green/plump over the next week before i rip them up to start on a fall sugarsnap crop.

Squirrels...I hate squirrels. They left them alone long enough, I didn't think they'd become a problem. As I write this ive seen squirrels running into the plot still looking for fruits.

Oh well, at least i'll get 60-75 tasty romas out of it.
