Dying Pin Oak

We had our very large and old pin oak tree cut in the spring. There was a lot of dead branches in it and some over hanging out pool area. Now it's lost 1/2 it's leaves, green ones included. Did we kill it?? There are no signs of oak wilt. Just strange and dissapointed.

You might try this question on the Trees Forum which is livelier than this one and where most of the tree people hang out. Pictures would be helpful.

My neighbor had their 10" tree hard pruned. Now only 1/3 of the branches sent leaves. Others are dead branches.

Your tree seems stunned. Since it drops only 1/2 of the leaves,there is still hope.
