Richmond gray is nice but what colour will the wainscoting be? What colour is the wood in the den. I'd be tempted to paint the cupboards in a colour off the Richmond Grey Pallet - 2124-10 Wrought Iron is quite dark but both these colours complement each other quite nicely. Do you have any photos? It might be easier to sort out :)

I am not a fan of painting wood cabinets. Photo so we can see the total picture? I have read cabinets painted at home last about 5 years. Question: will be getting new cabinets in 5 years? or are these cabinets in pretty good shape? Are you re-doing counters? back splash? flooring in kitchen? if flooring is hardwood already, what is tone? What is bead board stained = color? Colors in den? Wood tones in den? If you want a color to match the hound, what color is hound? (just kidding). This photo shows richmond gray with blue. Would you like blue for cabinets? I like the white trim with it to brighten. Do you have white trim?

Wainscoting will be medium brown stain, probably Provincial color. Stained cabs not at option at this point due to cost. Flooring is medium tone brown, not real light snd not real dark. Wood in den is aged natural poplar boards, put up on a diagonal from floor to peak if A-frame roof. All glass in front of den. Poplar is golden brown with brown streaks. Don't have pics at this point but will work on that. The den that the kitchen opens into also has dark exposed rough beams across the room. Think the lodge look! Thanks again.

How about an off white with a medium heavy glaze? Would keep the brightness of white and glaze should mask dog & coordinate with wainscoting.. These black pulls are attractive, too.
