Report #2 - Thai Red Turtle Egg

If you want to grow a 'tree' tomato, this is it. I would post a picture except that my two container plants have topped their supports and are cascading over nearby tomatoes and all is a tangle at the moment. Not easy to photograph. Plant height is about 8'-9'. No blight problems. Leaves yellow at the bottom but the top keeps on growing and producing heavily. Our temperatures for the past month have been in the 100's, yet this tomato sets new blossoms every day and the next morning fruit has formed in clusters of five. Fruit is about 3" long, some larger and are shaped just like a turtle egg. A very consistant producer, setting fruit early in the season, no matter the weather. If allowed to fully ripen the taste is very sweet. I would urge those in hot climates to try this one next year.
