two of my eleven 25' rows of toms are a collection of toms. i nave from 6 to 12 of each type. they got unruly and i started giving them a hair cur today.
to the person trying to get the green off heir fingers. i came right in and just used cold water and rubbed it all off. try cold water next time.
i have been learning all kinds of new things here. the person that advised to not prune determinate and cheery toms gave me a new idea.
besides my 6 super sweet 100's i have 12 yellow pear and 12 of some kind of cheery and 12 matina toms. today i just prunde some leave from them and strung up all the suckers.
my logic is that they are small tomatoes and pruning suckers to make them bigger is not-productive. and i like production.
my german giants are about 3" in diameter and as green as can be but that is understandable because they are an 85 day tom.
my Russian rose are about two inches and doing fine.
today i ate some mitina some yellow pear and some sweet 100's.
i think my next tom to ripen will be the thessloniki's.
they are the size of a hard ball and have turned yellow. this a a new tom for me this year as are the GG the Opalka and the san Marzano.
i think next year i will try the Super Italian Paste tom. we are trying for a lagter paste tomato that is a heirloom and has a shorter time to ripe toms.
well i must get back to my barbering.
