At around 7am this morning I went outside to retrieve something from my car and noticed an interesting looking insect. It was long and black with white stripes on the legs and so thin that once it let go it was carried off by the wind. It did have some control over it's flight, but had no wings. At the end of the long-thin body there were nodes that seemed to have legs branching off from them.

Attached is a rudimentary drawing of what I saw. The actual bug was much thinner than the drawing.

Any help would be appreciated.
