You've probably been seeing common anoles on your roses. They are critter eaters and not plant eaters. Leave them be.

I suspect that you've spotted the broad headed skink, which can be quite reddish at certain times of the year. They are a large lizard, but I'm not sure that I would say that they looked like iguanas. :-) These big guys, too, are critter eaters.

There really isn't any way to get rid of these valuable and beneficial animals. They mean you no harm.

I'm really not an outdoors person they seem a little scary to me. I am trying to get use to working in the yard and the different critters.

Well, you probably won't have as many replys in the Insect Forum as you would somewhere else. But, there really aren't any lizards around you that would eat or harm a plant in any way. They actually help your plants by eating any bugs that would damage your flowers. Like rhizo 1 said, leave them be, and although they might look scary or gross, they're really interesting if you learn more about them.

Definitely keep the little guys. How fun!
I wish I had more lizards in my garden. I do have a nice population of toads that keep things hopping.

If you want to keep your lizard population under control (and I can't see why) -- I can always loan you my German Shepherd, Maggie. Her most favorite form of entertainment is catching and eating grasshoppers and little green lizards.

"Lizard Problem"? We have tons of blue bellies around here. (garden patrol) The only thing better would be if they came in different colors & you've got that! Enjoy!

The lizards are ok. They won't do any harm. In fact, they will eat the bugs that kill our plants.

Once you get used to seeing the lizards, you'll grow to like them. They are cute as hell, and believe me, they won't bother you or the plants.
