Trees are usually removed for a reason,...like dead, old and diseased, not planted a the right spot...gotten too large etc.

If you wanted to get that one individual unique tree for one reason or another, then it might make it too difficult to harvest this tree, I'm thinking of the safety/liability factor for you and others.

Konrad is correct. A contacted a tree service becausbthey were cutting down a tree in front of my neighbors house, they said the ash trees are dying out and they don't want to be liable for it falling on housing, killing people,etc... By the way after they cut the tree down they have to chip it, they usually pay to dispose of these wood chips, if you call up local tree services and ask them to deliver chips to your house, they probably will.. I use woodchips all the time for my garden!
