Under counter gas ovens do not exist, heat discharge can not be below 36" for child safety

There are very few gas wall ovens left anyway. Almost all manufactures have dropped them. What few are left are mostly apartment size units.

Viking, BlueStar and American are bringing back 30" wall ovens, American is French door convection and available, Viking is drop down dooe and available and BlueStar is 30 & 36" French dooe and 24" swing door coming soon. None are self cleaning all are convection

If you've got gas hookups, why not just put in a range? More options and most likely less expensive.

Why aren't you getting a range? Are you thinking of having your oven in a different place than your cook top? I like to take things off the stove and put them right in the oven to finish off. You won't be able to do that.

If you have it under your cook top, and they are different brands, they might look funny together.

mandy...please don't even consider a gas oven under a countertop. it is a safety issue.

what is possible is a gas cooktop over an electric oven.
you can try an electic cooktop over an electric oven.
just make make sure the 2 pieces are from the same manufacturer.

it is much safer.

if you want to get technical think about the warranty coverage for the appliances.

No answer real answer to this in the (admittedly old) comments below.

What "safety issue"? How would a gas oven in a wall cabinet be any less "safe" than a gas oven in a cabinet under a cooktop?

And as far as the comment "heat discharge can not be below 36" for child safety", the oven on ranges are below 36", so what possible difference could there be if the oven is the same height but installed in a cabinet?

Very odd that there many comments that do not answer the question.
