Arranging the living room. Help needed.

Hi there,

I am needing some help regarding the arrangement of my living room. For whatever reason, I always feel unsettled after a few months and begin experiencing unrelenting urges to change the way the room looks and feels like. Not sure it if happens to others as well but it sure does to me. In that regard if anyone is able to give some sort of advice, or direct me where I can get a better clue how and (ESPECIALLY WHY) to put certain things on certain sports, I would be most appreciative!

I have been asking around to be frank, but to no avail. A friend suggested a should look around the web for clues but despite the few hours spent looking and reading around, nothing really caught my attention to the point to actually make me go for it.

Feeling a bit silly writing here but hope dies last as they say. One of you might just turn out to be the living room expert that I have been looking for :DD

Anyway, just to give you a starting point what kind of resources I have already 'exhausted', look at a couple of examples with explanations included.

Some really handy advices here but for whatever reason, I can't put those in the needed perspective. Can't really blame them for not having anything said about my furniture in particular but I am looking to rearrange those after all..

Lots of suggestions here but somehow lacking the needed suggestions regarding style, it seems. Just not quite what I need at the end of the day, sadly. Very very sad..

Maybe I am just looking at the wrong places, could you please provide some sort of basic guidance?

This is taken from one of the corners and it shows most of the room. Not much in terms of space but there has to be a way to be made cozy and neat..

I like your arrangement, except I would swap the tv and couch, because I don't like a glare when I watch television (unless of course there is a window behind the tv?) I also like your color scheme, but it isn't very inviting, in my opinion. I truly believe a living room is somewhere you can go to relax, and put your feet up after a hard days work. It looks a little stiff. The space, however, is so bright and full of light. I agree with the above comments that apartment therapy is a good resource, and also pinterest to get some inspiration.

I would move the couch to under that great art piece (it might need to be raised an inch or two to make it fit and give it some space above the back of the couch. I'd move the chair onto the wall to the right of the window and lower the painting on that wall down so that it's close to the level of the large painting.

I dont know if you're still moving things around? But hey!! I do it all the time too! I'm never satisfied... but looking at your room what I did notice was this...you could use a rug (green or blue) for sure and if you can't afford one? Find a throw you really like and then go to the Dollar Tree and buy a couple/3 of those non slip backers and make your own rug!!.. Lower your artwork to eyesight level...at least the one by the window.... Maybe you could add something organic? A plant or 2 ? Or jute around the bottom part of your coffee table? Try a few vintage books in blue binding or yellow on the desk...maybe get a couple birdhouses to hang from the windows (different heights)...anyway? Hope your feeling more at home by now ...good luck!

The coffee table thingy is way too tall. It needs to be about the same height as the couch seat. The smaller picture is way too high. It should be on a level with the other one.
