I almost went all kitchenaid for my kitchen remodel because my "builder's appliance supplier" was pushing them until I did a lot of research, not just from consumer reports or consumers themselves but from repairmen and from American Homeshield, the insurance I had to purchase when I recently bought this 1976 house. Their purchasing dept told me they wouldn't suggest kitchenaid to their own mothers as they have had so many repair calls on them. So, that's all I can tell you. I decided to switch to GE products as I couldn't afford thousands and thousands or Bosch or the likes. I have heard really good things about them although some people complained about repairs or customer service. But there are a lot more happy GE customers than not. I have already purchased the GE Profile 36" glass cooktop and just just love it! The rest of the purchases should be coming in the next 2 weeks along with the new cabinets.

Good luck with your purchases and don't forget to write about your own findings as it helps others. My suggestion is to look in the phone book for appliance repair services and ask them honestly what they think about the various brands and on which do they have the most calls or problems getting parts. Check a few repair services (it's an inconvenience to have to make those calls but it really can be helpful!) and make your own mind based on that too.
