I'm just guessing but if you start with an unfinished door this look can be achieved by applying a base coat paint in a lighter color and then using a dry brush to "drag" the top coat. I forget the actual technique, and I believe there is more than one way to do it. I used so leftover wood from a pallet to practice and get the results I wanted and then applied it to the walls and doors. I hope this helps.
