Does your roof come out over your bottom cabinets and grill?

about half way out, you still get soaked using the grill in the rain though :)

Well if you could extend the roof line a bit, it may not look as unfinished is what I'm thinking..but maybe a pergola type thing as mmilos said, or you could attach a shelf to the house above your working area and add some plants or something to balance it out. or other things that that weather doesn't ruin...???

great idea about the pergola :) I very much like that and think that if we made it out of the same teak as the cabinets it would tie in well,,,or do you think a contrast would be better? My only concern would be blocking any light from the inside of the house, though with an open frame it should be fine I would think. Thank you for the great thoughts.

Teak color to tie in your cabinets would be very nice. Yeah, keep it open. You could do a vine growing on top but it would block light and smoke ventilation.
