Absolutely I think they are worth it, but make sure you get true convection. You will get lots of conflicting advice about brands as each individual has different experiences. We have installed kitchenaid with no problems and like the features of their ovens and how the door is done so it is very easy to clean on the inside. The Wolf ovens cook wonderfully and also have an easy clean design.

I have a combo convection and conventional oven from GM profile and they work as they should.

Yes, but only if you keep your wits about you. I had a combo oven once, made this great dish of scalloped potatoes, put plastic wrap over it and baked it in the regular oven part. Disaster in the making.

Understand. When we built our house 25 yrs ago and I was in the corp. world traveling, I kept telling the designer and builder that I didn't need a kitchen, just a wet bar as I had no idea how to cook. A little better now, but not great!

Thanks so much! We went with a Kenmore Elite, double convection. I can't believe you can use plastic in the convection part.? I'm going to have to read up.

Yes, you really can! But it does get a bit chewy in the oven part :)
