Need some suggestions

I wanted to put these two hurricanes I "made" from Goodwill vases and candleholders in my bay window

with Valentine decor in them. But I am at a loss WHAT to put in the big one. Or should I even have them BOTH in the bay window like this? Suggestions, PLEASE!

Oh, I have to leave middle of bay window empty, as that is where the cats lay for afternoon sun and bird watching.

hugs, Karen

Perhaps another arrangement the same as the one on the left to balance since you have bunnies (hares) on both sides?
Not like I'm one to be answering, we know I tend to use 2 of everything...*sigh*... LOL
Color me green with envy that your kitties allow you to do such things. I have one that tends to "disarrange" anything like that he can get his paws on. Grrr, lol

Oh, I love your "bunnies," purplemoon! And the one hurricane you have done looks great!

How about one of your vintage postcards framed over by the right-side bunny? They are so CUTE... Or a red cardinal would look great at the feet of one your bunnies!

If you keep the 2nd hurricane, I've been experimenting with "fillers" too...pearl necklaces or glass beads ... the candy kisses (that luvs shared!)...some narrow satin dark red ribbon ...or variety of white/pearl small buttons.

You are like my good friend (who sent me to this forum) in regard to your kitty-cats! So sweet that you provide a nice warm spot in the sun for them & create your decor around them! :-) Have fun & whatever you do, it's always beautiful! Jeanne S.

Karen, good job on the vases, love them up on pedestal bases. Instead of both vases, maybe you could do a couple of candlesticks with red candles on the other side just to give some variety. Heck, I don't know, I struggle with these same kinds of questions all the time myself. I'm just trying to break away from being so matchy matchy all the time which is what I'm most comfortable with! LOL

Hope some of these other gals will have a good suggestion or two for you.

Unfortunately, I have the matchy, matchy problem also. Maybe you could put the roses in the bigger vase and fill the other with candy and a candle on each side. See I can't help myself. The bunnies are so sweet, I know my easter bunnies are just hopping at the chance to be out.

Karen, how about some red hots (candy) up about 2/3 of the way full and then add a chunky 4-6" candle on top of them? Maybe a white one and then tie a bow around the candle, using the same red ribbon as you have on your bunny. Would your kitties get into the red hots, though? If so, perhaps some red petals from a silk rose instead? Some red crushed glass would also be nice, if you could find some in the craft section at HL, Michael's, etc.

I'm not being 'sweet' to my kitties, Jeanne, I have no choice when it comes to this window. LOL. They are going to lay there no matter what. So for peace of mind, I keep the middle empty. Tho I would so LOVE to decorate the whole area. sighing. 3 of the cats are good about stuff, the orange teenager tends to re-decorate if he can. I keep a spray bottle of Pine Sol, since I love the smell and he doesn't. So I spray florals or into vases to discourage his helpful little paws. Jazz is a total obnoxious brat most of the time. He's far worse than Ty use to be as my Assistant Decorator. Now he's 7, Ty has become a Supervisor instead. LOL.

I like all the suggestions, tho looking at my photos again this morning (why do photos seem to help more than actually looking AT something?) I'm thinking I don't want matchy-matchy afterall. I have trouble avoiding that too at times.
LOL. I have a small white tree in an urn that I might hang some hearts on and put where the large hurricane is. I'll play around with things more. Since the stacked plates are right across from this window on my kitchen table, both hurricanes are probably a bit much the same style in a little area.

Boy! I can see that I can't put off Valentine's much longer. I feel like I just got Christmas put away. Now I'll have to crawl up and find the February boxes. You gals are making me feel guilty.
Karen, you've done a great job. I love how you refer to your kitties as decorators. :-)

I'm late to this party and you have lots of suggestions so maybe have posted an update already. Love the bunnies.

I have a similar cat problem - my precious Siamese loves to eat flowers/leaves/even silk flowers! I had to put my red flowers under a birdcage, then she chewed the leaves on the plants DH just bot me! They must not taste good as she left bits all over but the plants have had it. Good thing I love her dearly!
